Emulation Hall, located in the inner eastern suburb of Canterbury, is a unique function venue with a difference. Dating back to 1927, the Masonic Lodge is a rare architectural gem that is sure to take your breath away.

Having been lovingly restored to its former glory, this heritage listed building comprises three distinct and separate spaces to accommodate celebrations and events of all kinds. A lift ensures universal access to the first floor for all guests and there is a beautiful outdoor garden area with bench seating and soft lighting that is available for use until 9pm.

Main Hall

At ground level is the versatile Main Hall, complete with a soaring ornate ceiling,  pristine hardwood floors and handmade light fittings. The neutral décor offers class and opulence and allows for a myriad of styling options. This level also includes a sweeping entry, stage, bridal/green room, brand new commercial kitchen and ample storage space. The Main Hall is ideal for weddings, birthdays, large sit-down dining events, performances, conferences and corporate functions.

Supper Room

The Supper Room is located on the first floor and offers a large light filled room with original wooden detailing, newly upholstered classic furnishing and an impressive timber bar. This space is ideal for cocktail style functions, smaller celebrations and launches.

Temple Room

The Temple Room has got to be one of the most impressive spaces at Emulation Hall. The secret room is a truly remarkable space that has retained all the original Masonic features including stepped floors, timber bench seating and stunning heritage light fittings. The ornate celling features beautiful Egyptian themed motifs including astrological symbols and the all Seeing Eye of Horus. With generous proportions and a great sense of intimacy, this quietly glamorous space is perfect for ceremonies, awards nights and sit down dinners for up to 80 guests.

The use of trestle or round tables along with bentwood chairs to seat 180 is included in the venue hire, and quality crockery, cutlery and stemware are also provided for your event.
