Sugar Mountain Music Festival

Sugar Mountain Music and Visual Arts Festival is set to excite and ignite the summer plans of Melburnians. The festival kicks off for its second year running on January 14, 2012, expanding over three days at The Forum Theatre, Federation Square, No Vacancy Gallery and ACMI.

Innovative and influential art-pop crew, Deerhoof (USA), who have been touted by Pitchfork as “the best band in the world”, have been revealed as an exciting headlining act. Other acts featuring in the line-up so far include, avant-garde hip-hop trio Shazbazz Palaces (USA), Tune-Yards (USA), Thee Oh See (USA), John Maus (USA) and Julianna Barwick (USA).

The dynamic brains behind the Sugar Mountain machine are RRR’s To and Fro, whom along with Two Bright Lakes and Wing + Gil, will be curating the sounds of this summers festival. Pete Keen, creative director, working along side No Vacancy Gallery, will bring cutting edge artworks and installations of local and international artists to 2012’s creative celebration.
