Taronga Zoo 100 Year Birthday March

Take all of your family and friends to the majestic Taronga Zoo 100 Year Birthday March this weekend through the CBD. The march features giant animal light sculptures in the shape of elephants, platypuses, tigers and more which are carried by a cast of school children from Hyde Park up to the Sydney Opera House. The event represents the historical moment a century ago when Jessie the elephant was accompanied by hippos, primates, reptiles and other animal species from the original Zoological site in Moore Park, through the CBD to the harbour to be transported to where Taronga Zoo is located today.
