Bad Mama (formerly Mamasan) is a truly unique drinking and dining experience. Located in the heart of Surry Hills, this spectacular Art Gallery-eque establishment is spread over three floors, with two incredible bars, great food, and live music.

This is where Tokyo meets Taiwan on the set of Bladerunner, with all your favourite Asian food & drinks in one place.

From Duck Pancakes to Sashimi, from Dumplings to Pork Belly Steak, from Sang Choy Bow to Chilli Chicken Sliders - to their signature “One Bite Beef” - the food is melt-in-mouth yum.

Owner & Head Chef Gemma Lin was born in a remote Taiwanese fishing village before running bars for the Yakuza in Tokyo before coming to Australia and creating the Mamasan Brand - which has been imitated by many, but bettered by none.

They have two bars, each with a great cocktail list, an incredible range of Craft Japanese Beer, as well as Sake, Shochu and a fabulous Australian & International wine list. And then comes the Whiskey. All the incredible Award winning Asian Whisky meets the best from the rest of the world.

You can choose the spectacular upstairs Sakura Bar under our stunning roof, with Movie Nights on Monday with Happy Hour Drink prices all night. And on Sunday Afternoons they have a Chill Out Session with DJ Makato from 5.30pm.

Or you can head downstairs to Bad Mama’s Dungeon, their New York style underground Whiskey Bar with a stage for intimate live music performances. Jazz on Wednesdays & a Blues Jam session on Wednesday – you’re welcome to BYO instrument & climb onstage.
