Day & Night on the Great Barrier Reef

We’re excited to announce the launch of SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium's new $5 million investment - Day and Night on the Reef.

This all-new zone (launching November 2018) will transport guests to the Great Barrier Reef, where they can journey through the glowing world of jellies, explore a reef island under the moonlight, splash through waves of bioluminescent algae, explore the glowing corals and search for the shadows of predators, active on the night-time reef.

Guests can enjoy dinner or cocktails on Turtle Beach; here a wave is frozen in time, revealing a whole new spectrum of colour and creatures. This is the aquarium’s largest Ocean Tank vista with floor to ceiling viewing & will allow guests take in the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef for an unforgettable event experience.

Dugong Island

Home to our dugong Pig, a beautiful animal which legend has it were mistaken for mermaids by early European sailors arriving in Australia's waters. Pig can be seen from above and in the viewing tunnels below. Dugong Island’s large wrap around deck overlooking the Oceanarium is the perfect spot for a long summer dinner, unique networking event or corporate fun family day.

Jurassic Seas

Jurassic Seas takes you into the depths of the ocean to see where life began, to meet weird and wonderful living fossils. Guests will be able to discover the mysterious lungfish, Port Jackson sharks & jellyfish. You can even visit our incredibly popular colony of Little Penguins, who can be seen darting through the water and waddling across the beach while going about their very important little penguin business.
